Become an explorer and search for ancient treasures with our exciting new explorer packs!

These packs provide both a fun and educational way for children and families to explore the museum and learn together using hands-on based learning. Each contains an explorer backback, an explorer hat, a magnifying glass, pencils, a ruler, and a fun activity pack to complete in the galleries.

Topics covered in the activity book include:

• Animals
• Mummification
• Our coffin of an ancient Egyptian musician
• Gods and Goddesses
• Shabtis
• Food Offerings
• Pottery
• Writing in hieroglyphs
• Senet
• The home in ancient Egypt

The activity pack also encourages families to interact with our volunteers and have a go of our hands-on activities such as:

• Playing the ancient Egyptian game of Senet
• Handling real ancient Egyptian artefacts
• Performing mummification our dummy mummy bob

 

The packs are only £1 to hire from the museum gift shop, and families are able to take their activity books home with them.
