Touching Death Adult Workshop

If you’ve ever wanted to touch some of the objects you usually only get to see behind glass in museums, now’s your chance!

• This workshop is led by Egypt Centre staff as is designed to be a hands on introduction to funerary objects. 

• Handle objects including magical amulets which were placed upon the body during mummification, as well as the canopic jars that would have housed the internal organs.

• You will also learn about ba-birds, which represented the mobile soul of the deceased and the servant figures known as shabtis that the ancient Egyptians took with them to the afterlife. 

£20 per person
