As well as biscuits and coffee we offer more! You can meet new friends, learn new skills, get on a  career path, and have the satisfaction of helping run Wales’ only Egyptian museum! We have special, free Egyptology classes for our volunteers. You can even borrow books from our very own library.  We have special content on this site for volunteers only.

There are two ways to get involved, you can volunteer or come on a work placement:

  • Volunteering is a commitment made for free to the museum regularly over a sustained period of time. Most people volunteer from between 3-17 hours per month. You can volunteer between Tuesday-Saturday 10am-4pm. All ages (10-99+ years) are welcome.
  • A work placement is a shorter unpaid (usually full time) intensive work program designed to give you a practical idea of what it is like to work in a museum in a front of house capacity. Placements can last from one week onwards – it’s your choice. Our work placements are open to people from the age of 14 onwards.

Whatever way you decide to become involved, you will be joining an ever expanding team of dedicated volunteers who love working at our museum. We hope you will too!
