Birds in ancient Egypt
Several birds were sacred to the ancient Egyptians and therefore we have many objects in the Centre related to birds:
Ba birds (the soul of a person or god shown as part bird and part person)
A statuette of an ibis (student project)
A mould in the shape of a benu bird (EC644)
A Predynastic cosmetic palette in the shape of a bird
A New Kingdom cosmetic palette in the shape of two ducks
