W795

W795

Beads from a Middle Kingdom female burial at Qau. The label which was on this object when it came to Swansea said this was found on the right arm.

This item comes from Guy Brunton’s excavation at Qau (Brunton 1930, 1). W795 seems to be that described in the excavation report as ‘carnelian and green glazed spheroids with a ribbed carnelian barrel’. The Egypt Centre has other items from this grave (W792-W796), as does the Petrie Museum (UC25981-5).
