Graeco-Roman Mummy Masks
In the Graeco-Roman Period, mummy masks were often made of cartonnage and highly decorated. Sometimes these consisted of separate body and head pieces, with the head piece being helmet-like. At other times the mask and body were formed of one piece. We have several in the Egypt Centre. These include:
W917 A Graeco-Roman helmet-style mask
W918 A Graeco-Roman helmet-style mask
W919 A Graeco-Roman helmet-style mask
W920 a Ptolemaic mummy mask with Book of the Dead 151a upon it.
