Enhance your group’s learning with a visit

to The Egypt Centre!

The Egypt Centre provides a number of opportunities for school groups to visit the Museum.


Early Years and Foundation Phase 1

Museum Facilitated Visits

The Museum offers half-day visits for Early Years and Foundation Phase 1 groups. Group Leaders can choose from a number of fun activities, specially designed for our youngest schools groups.

Maximum Capacity: 40 Children

Price: £3 per child


Foundation Phase 2

Museum Facilitated Visits

Spend a day at the Egypt Centre doing a number of fun hands-on activities facilitated by Museum staff and volunteers. Group leaders have the chance to choose up to six activities for their pupils to enjoy.

Maximum Capacity: 60 children

Cost: £3 per child

Teacher Led Visits

Journey to the Afterlife. Teachers will receive step by step guides to facilitate 4 activities based on the journey from mummification to eternal life. These activities are: Mummification, Weighing of the Heart, Egyptian Writing and Senet.

Please note, the group will need to be divided into 4 groups upon arrival. Each group will require a Teacher/activity facilitator. Minimum of 4 staff are required.

Maximum capacity: 40 children

Price: £2 per child

Goody Bag Service

To save time in the gift shop and ensure that you can spend as much time in the museum with our activities, we can provide goody bags for the children to a value of your choice. For more information click here.
