WK32

WK32 Shabti of Djed-Iset, presumably from the Ramesseum. It dates to the 22nd Dynasty (945-747 BC).

Several shabtis were found in the Ramesseum around 1895 (Quibell, J.E. 1898 The Ramesseum). The Ramesseum is situated on the west bank at Thebes.

This shabti is made from faience. You can see the seed bag on its back.

Notice that it has both a seed bag and waterpots on its back.

WK35 Shabti of Djed-Khonsu. Notice the unusual placing of the seed-bag (or more probably a brick mould) on the back. We have 4 others from this set.

This shabti is made from faience. You can see the seed bag on its back.

This is a wooden shabti. Traces of black resin bitumen can be seen on it.

 

 

 

 

WK8The upper half of a pottery shabti. The traces of white are gesso (plaster) with which it would have been covered.
