PM21

1 highly decorated faience wing with holes in it to sew on mummy wrapping. 51mm long and 18mm wide. This probably dates to the 26th Dynasty (Friedman 1998, 247, pl. 158). Donated by Prys Morgan.

This may have been a wing for either a scarab or a winged Isis. Both scarabs and winged Isis amulets would be placed across the chest of the deceased.

This originally belonged to Colonel Morgan who was in Egypt during World War I.
