EC425This is part of the head of the coffin. The yellow stripes are the stripes indicating the hair. The kneeling goddess is Nephthys. Nephthys sat at the head of the coffin and Isis at the foot. This can be seen in stelae such as the one in the adjacent case.

Nephthys is said to protect the deceased in spell 151b of the Book of the Dead, she is described as the east wind in 161T1. She is listed as one of the nine gods of the Ennead. Coffins like this, with yellow on black date to the New Kingdom.
