EC1053 Re in his night boat

 

This piece of cartonnage shows Re in his night boat. You can tell it is his night boat by the stars depicted in the sky. Ra had two boats, one for the day, and one for the night. He sailed across the sky during the day and through the underworld at night.

He can be seen here as a child in a pink uterine disc, awaiting rebirth in the morning. Thoth is shown to the right in the boat with him.
