The Egypt Centre welcomes individuals, school parties and organised group visits of all ages and abilities. We also organise themed workshops and activities for children and adults throughout the year.

We have two galleries: The House of Life and the House of Death.

The House of Life contains contains artefacts associated with the everyday life of the ancient Egyptians including objects from the royal site of Amarna, jewellery, tools and weapons, even children’s toys. Hands-on activities include senet, handling real Egyptian artefacts and writing your name in hieroglyphs.
The House of Death contains has artefacts associated with death and religion in ancient Egypt including the coffin of a lady musician, mummified animals and copies of the Book of the Dead. Hands-on activities include mummification, senet and pyramid puzzles.
Free audio trails are always available and for a small charge vistors can purchase trails or Explorer Packs.
